In France a child under 10 must travel in a restraint suited to their height and weight. Taxis are exempt from that rule, private hire vehicles are not: fitting the car is our job, not something you should be carrying through an airport.
Just tell us the child's age and weight when you book. The right device is fitted before pickup: a carrier for an infant, a seat for a toddler, a booster beyond that. This is also why we ask for 12 hours' notice, because a seat has to be installed and checked rather than improvised at the kerb.
One practical point that is easy to miss: a child seat takes up a passenger place. In our 3-seat cars, two adults travelling with two children in seats will not fit in one vehicle. Tell us and we will arrange two cars on the same slot.
